Everybody wants Big Data, but many don't know how to get it, or what to do with it.

We’re in the age of data and it’s impossible to avoid a discussion about Big Data.  There are articles, whitepapers and conferences about it.  Everybody wants Big Data, but many don’t know how to get it and what to do with it.

Forward Health Group’s Michael Barbouche will discuss how his company is harnessing the power of data to tackle one of the biggest issues we face today – fixing healthcare.  And while Michael is a mathematician, not a marketer by training, the solutions he has developed for harnessing, understanding and using data to tell a story are applicable to all of us.

    Michael will address:

    • The importance of measuring what’s right.  It’s critical to identify your goals and track the data that will measure against those objectives.  Remember, just because you can measure it, doesn’t mean that you should.

    •  Getting data from all sources, sales data, attitude and usage studies, awareness trackers, impressions and engagement. Consider how you will glean and use key data from disparate sources.  Can this be automated? Are all sources equally important?

    • Proving ROI.  Whether it’s a proving the value of a marketing spend or, in my world, proving the ROI of new protocols in a clinical setting, data is the cornerstone of proving ROI, especially to a skeptical boss, investor, client or board member.

Meet Our Speaker: Michael Barbouche, Founder and CEO of Forward Health

Micheal BarboucheMichael Barbouche is the Founder and CEO of Forward Health Group, a population health measurement company based in Madison, Wisconsin. A mathematician formally trained in health services research, he has over twenty years of health care experience, with an acute focus on data.

Applying the principles of set theory, he has invented new data models for the health care industry that maximize the harvest and yield of clinical results, regardless of health IT infrastructure. A frequent advisor on health care data strategy, Michael has demonstrated that any quest for lower costs / higher quality must begin with a denominator.

Michael owes most of what he knows about health care to his wife, Ellen, a general internist in practice at the University of Wisconsin. They live in Madison with their three great kids.
